Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how App Lane OÜ ("we," "us," or "Company") handles information when you use HRM Heart Rate Monitor ("HRM"). We prioritize user privacy. Where any data is collected, it is anonymized and cannot be linked to you personally.
Data We Collect
HRM does not collect, store, or transmit personal data or health data. Heart rate is read from Apple Watch and broadcast locally over Bluetooth — it never leaves your device.
Anonymized crash diagnostics and basic usage data may be collected automatically to help identify bugs and improve the app. This data cannot be linked to you personally.
HealthKit
HRM requests read access to heart rate from HealthKit. This data is used solely to broadcast your current heart rate over Bluetooth Low Energy. It is not written back to HealthKit, shared with any server, or stored.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
HRM uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (by Google LLC) to collect anonymized usage data and crash reports. No personal or health data is included. This data is processed by Google — see Google's Privacy Policy for details.
How We Use Information
The limited anonymized data collected is used to: provide and improve HRM, identify and fix bugs, and detect abuse or fraud. We do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Information We Share
We do not sell your information. Anonymized crash and analytics data is processed by Google LLC (Firebase) as described above. We share information with no other third parties in connection with HRM.
Children's Privacy
HRM is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If we learn such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.
Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable under GDPR, we process data on the following bases:
- Contractual necessity — HealthKit access is required to deliver the app's core functionality.
- Legitimate interests — anonymized crash and analytics data helps us maintain and improve HRM.
Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of Zurich, Switzerland. If you have unresolved privacy concerns, you may contact your local data protection authority. EU users may contact their country's supervisory authority.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Continued use of HRM after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
