Known limitation: On Matrix the console decides, not the machine. Press Start on your Watch, then on a Touch XL, Touch or Premium LED console tap the Bluetooth or gear icon, choose Heart Rate Monitors, and pick HRM App from the list. A heart icon confirms the pairing. Matrix consoles can't read an Apple Watch directly. They see your iPhone as an ordinary heart rate sensor, so keep it on the console tray or in the cupholder. Basic LED consoles on older machines read only an analog 5 kHz chest strap: no Bluetooth icon on screen means the console can't see the HRM app.

What bike computers work with the HRM app?
Most cycling computers that support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) heart rate sensors. This includes Garmin Edge (selected models), Wahoo ELEMNT, Hammerhead Karoo, Bryton, and popular indoor training apps like Zwift and TrainerRoad.

Does it work alongside Garmin Connect?
Most Garmin Edge models only allow one active Bluetooth connection to your iPhone at a time. In practice, you choose between the HRM app or Garmin Connect features (notifications, live tracking, weather) during a ride.

Do I need to keep the iPhone app open while riding?
No. Start the app, let your bike computer connect, then lock your screen or switch apps. The HRM app keeps broadcasting in the background.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 7 days, completely free. No charge if you cancel before the trial ends.
Is it available on Android?
No. HRM requires Apple Watch for heart rate measurement and iPhone for Bluetooth broadcasting. Android is not supported.
