Other Devices
No dedicated guide for your device? The general pairing procedure below works for most BLE-compatible cycling computers. If you get stuck, the troubleshooting tips usually resolve it.
Compatible Devices (No Dedicated Guide)
General Pairing
- 1 Open HRM on your iPhone and Apple Watch, then press Start on the Watch.
- 2 On your device: go to Sensor settings → Heart Rate → Add sensor (exact path varies by device).
- 3 Your device should discover the HRM App. Select it to pair.
If It Doesn't Connect
Terminate Companion Apps First
If your cycling computer has an iPhone app (e.g. Bryton Active, Sigma Ride), close it completely before connecting HRM. Many devices only allow one active phone connection at a time — first come, first served.
Connect HRM before Other Accessories
If you have other Bluetooth accessories (Di2 shifters, power meter, speed/cadence sensors), let HRM connect first. Bluetooth devices are claimed in the order they connect, and some devices cap the number of simultaneous connections.
Disable Background App Refresh for Companion Apps
Go to Settings → General → Background App Refresh and disable it for your cycling computer's companion app. This prevents it from silently reclaiming the connection.
Switching Back to Your Companion App
When you're done with HRM and want to reconnect your companion app: power off your device, close HRM, open the companion app, then power on your device.
Not Working at All?
If your device isn't listed, just try it — the 7-day free trial is risk-free. If it works or doesn't work, I'd love to hear about it so I can add it to the list: hrm@app-lane.com
